Last updated: 26 June 2025
Who we are
Next Level Learning ("NLL", "we", "us") provides Maths and Science tutoring and related educational support online and in Blessington, Co. Wicklow. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you use our website and services.
If you have questions about this policy or your data, please get in touch through our contact page at /contact.
Information we collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Account details such as name, email address, and role (student, parent/guardian, or tutor).
- Student profile information such as school year, subjects of interest, and programme group where applicable.
- Educational content you submit, including questions to tutors, anonymous questions, lesson preparation, assignment responses, and pre-first lesson assessment answers.
- Files you upload, such as screenshots or lesson preparation documents, where you choose to attach them.
- Usage and technical data such as device type, browser, and log information needed to operate and secure the platform.
- Communications with us, including contact form submissions, free first grind bookings, and support messages.
- Payment-related information processed by our payment provider when you purchase a plan (we do not store full card details on our servers).
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Provide tutoring services, student dashboards, parent and guardian visibility features, and tutor tools.
- Respond to questions, deliver lesson support, and publish answers to question banks where you have given consent.
- Run pre-first lesson assessments, track progress, and share appropriate updates with linked parents or guardians.
- Send service-related emails and notifications, such as lesson reminders and account updates.
- Improve our website, safeguard accounts, and prevent misuse.
- Meet legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
Legal bases for processing
Where applicable under data protection law, we process personal data on the basis of contract (to deliver services you sign up for), legitimate interests (to operate and improve our platform safely), consent (for example, where you opt in to community question bank sharing), and legal obligation.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with trusted service providers who help us run the platform, such as hosting, authentication, email delivery, and payment processing. These providers may only use data as needed to perform services for us.
Tutors may see student questions and relevant profile information needed to teach and respond. Anonymous group questions are handled without revealing student identity to tutors. Community question bank entries show question and answer content only, not student names.
Linked parents or guardians may view information about their connected student as enabled in the parent and guardian dashboard.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and services.
Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as needed to provide services, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it where reasonably possible.
Children and students
Our services are designed for students and families. Where a student is under 18, we expect account setup and ongoing use to involve a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult as appropriate. Parents and guardians may be linked to student accounts to view relevant progress and communications.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including access controls and secure hosting. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to reduce risk and review our practices regularly.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for sign-in, security, and core functionality. We may expand cookie use over time; if we introduce non-essential analytics or marketing cookies, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for consent.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
To exercise your rights, please contact us through our contact page at /contact. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside Ireland or the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we take steps intended to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in line with applicable data protection requirements.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of our services after an update means you accept the revised policy, subject to any additional requirements under law.
