Are there any hidden costs?

The published monthly price is the full price for that plan and subject: no registration, materials, or platform fee. Worksheets and solutions, WhatsApp, quizzes, class tests, and the parent dashboard are included as listed. One exam-year mock (3rd year, 6th year, Repeat) is included on every plan; personalised tutor marking is the 1-to-1 extra. You only pay extra if you enrol another subject or another child, each at the same published rates.

Is the first grind really free?

Yes. Book a free grind with no card details and no obligation. Group Grinds includes two free first grinds; 1-to-1 includes one. Every booking includes the free pre-first lesson assessment. After the tutor confirms the slot you get signup links for a free student dashboard and a free parent dashboard: lesson prep, worksheets and solutions, and a post-grind quiz on each complimentary lesson. Recordings and the full paid portal unlock after you enrol. Monthly enrolment opens after your free grind or grinds are complete.

How does monthly pricing work?

Each plan has a fixed monthly rate per student, per subject, priced across the school year. Billing renews on the 1st of every month. If you join later in a month, your first payment covers the remaining weeks only: full price in week 1, three-quarters in week 2, half in week 3, and one-quarter from week 4. After that, the full monthly rate applies from the next 1st. You can leave month to month; there is no long-term contract.

Question 4

Can I pay for the whole school year at once?

No. Enrolment is monthly so you can join any month and leave month to month, with no long-term contract. December and January stay at three-quarters of the standard rate, and June, July, and August are unbilled.

Question 5

How do I pay, and when does portal access start?

Accepted Answer

You pay on Stripe’s hosted checkout; card details never touch our website, and we hold no Stripe API keys. Stripe confirms the payment to us over a signed notification, so the portal usually unlocks within a minute or two and a confirmation email follows. Nobody has to approve it by hand.

What about Christmas and the summer?

December and January are the only reduced months - charged at three-quarters of the standard rate because we close for Christmas (20 Dec 2026 – 3 Jan 2027). June, July, and August are not billed at all. After summer, restarting is entirely the parent's choice from their dashboard.

Do lessons run during mid-term breaks?

There is no mid-term or Easter discount. Months are charged at the full monthly rate when lessons run. Group Grinds that continue through mid-terms and Easter: JC 3rd Year Higher Level, LC Higher Level 6th Year (including Repeat HL in that room), and the LC Ordinary Level group. Group Grinds that pause: 5th Year Higher Level (and TY in that room), and 1st or 2nd year groups when offered. All 1-to-1 plans continue through mid-terms and Easter.

What is included in each plan?

Every lesson is one hour. Group Grinds (€79/month): two group classes per week, with two free first grinds. 1-to-1 (€179/month): one private lesson per week. Premium 1-to-1 (€359/month): two private lessons per week. Every plan includes a worksheet and solutions every class, a free pre-first lesson assessment, a plan of action (personalised on 1-to-1; each Group Grinds class has its own), WhatsApp rescue, quizzes, and class tests throughout. One exam-year mock is included in 3rd year, 6th year, and Repeat. 1-to-1 students send workings on WhatsApp for personalised marking; groups self-mark and go through it in the next classes. Leaving Cert and Junior Cycle use the same rates.

Do Group Grinds and 1-to-1 both get a plan of action?

Yes. Every plan includes a plan of action parents can see. On 1-to-1 it is written for that student. Each Group Grinds class has one shared plan for the group. Follow it from the parent dashboard alongside quizzes and lesson notes.

Question 10

How does support work?

Accepted Answer

Students can use WhatsApp support for homework rescue (send a photo of your working) and message their tutor on the website (replies usually under 24 hours, otherwise within 24-48 hours), ask anonymously in group lessons, browse question banks, complete post-grind quizzes, and submit lesson preparation. Linked parents and guardians have their own dashboard for progress, homework, and tutor feedback.

What subjects are available?

We offer Leaving Cert Maths, Junior Cycle Maths, and Leaving Cert Physics. Published group times currently cover selected Maths years and levels. Transition Year students can join Group Grinds at the level they are taking: Ordinary Level joins the LC OL Maths group (5th and 6th year together), and Higher Level joins the 5th-year LC HL Maths group. Repeat Leaving Cert students join the LC OL Maths group or the 6th-year LC HL Maths group, depending on the level they are taking. The LC OL group includes both 5th and 6th year students. Other years, levels, and subjects can register interest for a group, or book 1-to-1. We also offer University Level Grinds. Contact us if you would like an arrangement.

How are groups formed?

Students are grouped by subject, year, and level so everyone in the room is working on similar material. Transition Year students can join Group Grinds at the level they are taking: Ordinary Level joins the LC OL Maths group (5th and 6th year together), and Higher Level joins the 5th-year LC HL Maths group. Repeat Leaving Cert students join the LC OL Maths group or the 6th-year LC HL Maths group, depending on the level they are taking. The LC OL group includes both 5th and 6th year students. Published times are listed on the pricing page and on each Group Grinds class page. If a group is not running for a year, level, or subject yet, you can register interest. If a group is not the right fit, we will discuss moving to a 1-to-1 plan.

What if a student misses a lesson?

Life happens. If a student cannot attend, let us know in advance where possible. We will help them catch up through lesson materials, support channels, and guidance on what to review before the next session. One-to-one students can often reschedule with more flexibility.

Question 14

Are prices per subject? What about multiple children?

Accepted Answer

Yes, every price on this page is for one student enrolled in one subject (for example, Leaving Cert Maths or LC Physics, not both together). Leaving Cert and Junior Cycle use the same rates. Enrolling two or more children, or more than one subject for the same student, uses the same standard rate for each enrolment. There is no separate family discount. Contact us if you need help setting up more than one enrolment.

Question 15

What if we only need grinds for part of the year?

Monthly plans have no long-term contract. Cancel from the parent dashboard and access continues until the end of the current billing period.
